According to a report published by Technipages, Messenger users can take several steps to be able to delete messages on iPhone and Android phones, and on computers and laptops, and they can also be deleted from both sides permanently.
Log in to the Messenger app
If you want to delete an entire conversation, press and hold on the conversation or if you are using an iPhone, scroll the conversation to the left and select the red trash can, and your phone will always ask you to confirm before deleting.
- If you want to delete a single message, go to the conversation, tap and hold on the message you want to delete, and tap Remove at the bottom.
Then select Remove for me. If you have an Android phone, you will need to select Remove again to confirm, iPhone users will not see this final prompt, so make sure you want to select Remove for you.
- You can remove the message for everyone if you do the action within 10 minutes of sending it, and your phone gives you the option to remove for everyone or just for yourself, and once you make your choice, press remove.

You can delete chat messages and conversations to clean up your inbox, on Facebook.com for computers and laptops.
Select the Messenger button in the upper right direction.
Select See All in Messenger at the bottom of Messenger.
