Tesla required nearly half a million vehicles to maintain potential malfunctions in the lockdown systems of the Rhino Fund. The models that needed to be maintained were all units of Type 3 that were issued between 2017 and 2020, as well as certain S-type units.
For Mode 3, Tesla believes that opening and closing a box of change may lead to the damage of the belt linking the back camera, causing the camera to fail unexpectedly, and the malfunction of the S model is more serious and is likely to prevent the front box from closing completely.
According to the NHTSA, there are 475,318 vehicles under call, including 356,309 type 3 and 119,109 S vehicles.
Tesla estimates that only 1% of the 3 model cars will have holidays compared to 14% of the S cars.
Summoning the S model is particularly worrying because the problem affects the front trunk of the car, which may hinder the driver's view of the road if he flies while driving.
Since the problem of Type S is an imbalance in alignment, not a piece of damage, Tesla believes that fixing the problem is easy and will solve the problem. For the affected owners of Type 3, Tesla undertook to install a new belt and a free guidance shield.
