When Zainab Abdel-Wahhab and her husband were studying in Britain, they once tried out the game known as "escape room" and soon became regulars.
After returning to Basra (southern Iraq), they opened a special escape room that takes the players in a break away from the outside world, technology, the Internet and mobile phones, to rely solely on thinking skills in pursuit of escape.
Zeinab and her husband chose the lighting, furniture and atmosphere that help players focus on solving a series of puzzles and tests after a row to escape from a tightly closed room in less than one hour.
Zeinab says that most young people currently depend on modern technology in their lives and resort to knowledge and solving competitions and puzzles to specialized sites through the use of the Internet without making any mental effort in that, noting that the contestant in the "escape room" game will depend on his focus and abilities mental.
As for the "escape room", Zainab explains that the contestants will find in it a set of secrets, ideas, puzzles, and sequential games, most of which depend on concentration.
She adds that everything in the room was carefully chosen, in terms of lighting, arrangement, and furniture, so that when the contestant enters, he will change his thinking and focus, as well as isolate him from the outside world.
Players talked about how they felt when entering the escape room experience.
Haider Lavi praised the game, especially as it keeps the contestant away from modern technology and the phone, and pushes him to mental focus to solve practical puzzles and riddles.
For his part, Sajjad Amjad - another player - says that he came with his friend, leaving their mobile phones, and secluded themselves in the room to focus on the game.
