The Central Bank of Egypt revealed that the number of ATM machines increased by about 48% after the launch of the initiative to publish 6500 new ATMs in June 2020, bringing the total number of ATM machines in the banking sector to 20.100 machinery at the end of 2021.
The Central Bank said in the "Ventalcent" report that the number of ATM machines in the Egyptian banking sector reached 13600 automatic ATMs at the time of the launch of the initiative in June 2020.
In June 2020, the Central Bank launched an initiative to deploy 6500 new ATM machinery in all governorates no later than December 2021, in the context of the central bank’s interest in supporting the infrastructure of payment systems and the availability of digital financial services for all citizens throughout the Republic.

This comes within a studied methodology from the Central Bank of Egypt to spread digital financial services, and to provide banking services that can be obtained through ATMs for citizens all over the Republic around the clock, where banks were obligated to put a priority for vital places with high density that lack banking services,And that these machines support the completion of banking operations for people with determination.
The machines allow cash deposits and acceptance of non -inflammatory transactions, as well.
