A man's face is a mirror of the soul and age as well. A fresh, radiant complexion reveals that you take care of yourself, that you are in good health, and that you are still young.
As for dry skin that is marred by grains and wrinkles, it is evidence that you do not devote enough time to taking care of yourself, and that you are getting old.
For this reason, care must be taken to avoid the appearance of signs of aging, to remedy the situation before it is too late and to treat the skin.
All in all, a number of tips help to avoid making this mistake.
There are also a number of habits that are repeated every day, monitored by the Spanish newspaper El Confidencia, which are directly related to the face. They make you look older, and you may be doing them subconsciously, but avoiding them will change your life.
1- Touching the face constantly:
Most of the time, you don't realize that you're touching your face many times a day.
You might do this movement before a business meeting or after finishing a report, while talking to colleagues over a coffee break, or when your boss is making you nervous.
The sliding of the hand towards the face is also a common involuntary movement among many, which causes a lot of problems on the level of your skin.
In this regard, David Lorcher, a dermatologist and CEO of the American "Kiprology" website, confirmed that "continuous touching of the face is a process that contributes to the transfer of bacteria to it.
Moreover, this habit can promote the development of pimples, and create a suitable ground for facial infections.
On the other hand, placing the hand on the face leads to the accumulation of moisture, which is a breeding ground for bacteria.”
In fact, touching the face with hands cannot be avoided, so it is better to keep washing hands periodically. Perhaps this was confirmed by the expert, "In this way, it is possible to avoid transferring bacteria to your skin through touch."
2. Not washing the face:
Although women's skin is more sensitive than men's, this fact does not mean that men do not need facial care.
On the other hand, many men wash their faces using water only, and as for men who use some kind of cleaning materials, they confine themselves to cleaning with soap, shampoo or any other type of material that they find in the sink or bathroom.
Moreover, men are not used to using moisturizing cream or sunscreen, which makes their skin more vulnerable to dryness and sun damage.
Worse, men don't use any aftershave skin care products.
These habits must be put to an end, because there are so many options for facial cleansing on the market.
On the other hand, any product can be used as long as it is soft when applied to the skin.
In this regard, dermatologist Natasha Cook confirmed, "The use of facial scrubs or foaming products to clean the face is harmful to the skin, especially the upper layer responsible for protecting the skin and maintaining its health."
Many people don't know that foaming cleansers and skin exfoliants contribute to aggravation of skin infections, allergies, sagging skin, and the appearance of signs of aging. The expert also added that, "Personally, he prefers non-foaming cleansers.
He also tends to use skin moisturizers like glycerin, and anti-inflammatories like niacinimide or vitamin B3.”
And Cook stated that "the biggest mistake is choosing the wrong face wash, as most people are not aware of the serious damage caused by foaming cleansers and facial scrubs."
He added that "soft products are the best, since many other products contain a lot of alcohol and perfumes, which are harmful to the skin."
3. Not showering after exercising:
It happens to everyone: after a workout in the gym, most people rush home.
Finally, the athlete leaves the gym wearing sweat-soaked clothes and unpurified skin. However, this habit has serious repercussions on the skin.
In this context, dermatologist Jules Schlesinger confirmed, "Not taking a shower immediately after exercising is a major factor causing the appearance of pimples on the chest and back."
He also stated that "sweat remains stuck inside tight clothes, which contributes to acne, irritation and many other skin problems.
Accordingly, it is a good idea to shower immediately after training, to ensure that bacteria do not remain on the skin for a long time."
In addition, it is good to use a gel to clean the body after exercising, and care must be taken to clean areas of the body that have been in direct contact with sports equipment.
If some people prefer not to shower due to laziness, they should at least change clothes as soon as possible and wash their limbs.
4. Use of unsuitable facial materials:
You must read the labels of the personal hygiene products we use; It is possible to buy one of the substances that are harmful to your skin, and which have few benefits.
In this context, Lortscher recommends buying face products labeled "non-comedogenic"; They are the products for those with oily skin and those most prone to acne.
5. Using water at inappropriate temperatures:
It should be noted that there is no point in alternating the use of hot and cold water, as they do not end up treating the pores.
Experts advise using warm water, because it is the only solution that does not cause skin problems.
If the water is too cold or vice versa, it can cause skin irritation.
6. Excessive use of the phone:
Your mobile phone is more bad and harmful than you think. According to Schlesinger, phones contain bacteria such as Staphylococcus aureus, or Escherichia coli; Which is not only harmful to health, but also a devastating risk to the skin.
In particular, the risk of exposure to these bacteria increases especially through touching the face after using a mobile device.
Undoubtedly, we touch handles, money, and other things that are covered in germs, all the time, and then, we use the phone.
After making a phone call, during which the phone stuck to the cheek, these bacteria must have penetrated the pores of the face.
Accordingly, these bacteria lead to acne, inflammation, and irritation.
