The Egyptian-Canadian scientist Dr. Hatem Zagloul, the developer of the idea of electronic devices connecting to the Internet "Wi-Fi" and the CEO and founder of Votera, said that the idea of inventing Wi-Fi began when he was studying 2G technology and the technologies in a telecom company for the purpose of developing it.
And then he came to the fact that all available technologies are bad and there is a need to work on new, more advanced technology, as the 2G network allowed receiving only 250 thousand information per second, which is a very weak level.
Dr. Zaghloul was the first to develop the idea of connecting electronic devices to the Internet, and also contributed to increasing their speed and transferring them to mobile phones, accompanied by Michel Fattoush by inventing the technology and reaching it after only 20 minutes.
The company when it started was called WILAN and not WIFI.
Dr. Zagloul, who studied electronic engineering at Cairo University, and applied mathematics at Ain Shams University, added that the invention had many advantages and disadvantages to societies.
Where I gave people fast internet connection.
There are many who employ this technology to take advantage of it, and at the same time there are many people who waste their time on the Internet.
Dr. Zagloul pointed out that since he presented the idea, he explained that it will change the world at all levels, including the ease of communication as well as its great effects on the fields of work.
As we communicate through WhatsApp and social media, in addition to facilitating the field of work, we are now able to work from any region and anywhere in the world.
Regarding the spread of the technology, Dr. Zagloul said that the invention was made in 1991 and spread strongly in 2003.
Zagloul explained that Wi-Fi has created many fields such as online selling, multimedia, Netflix, and recently Metaverse technology, all of which we would not have reached or even thought of had it not been for Wi-Fi that succeeded in changing lives, especially after opening the doors of WebTree and Crypto.
On a personal level, he confirmed that the invention inspired him a lot, and he still expects to develop a greater invention, as it raised his financial level significantly.
Dr. Zagloul said that half of the world currently does not have communications due to the high prices of networks, and Zagloul seeks to reduce the cost of 4G, but many companies refused to license the price.
The doctor is currently working on building communications networks in developing countries, so that 4G networks are at longer distances than those made in developed countries, so that there are fewer towers and lower costs.
This technology will be ten times cheaper than 4G.
He added that the project will be financed by a digital currency he created called Votera, whereby the proceeds of its sales can be used to build advanced communication networks in poor countries.
The returns and profits of the cryptocurrency can be useful in lifting millions of individuals out of poverty in Africa by providing their access to the “internet”, increasing their productivity, and creating market opportunities to sell their products.
He expected Votera's share of the digital currency market to reach 30% within 10 years, especially as it saves electricity consumption and avoids environmental damage.
He stressed that all of the currency's revenue will be built through which communication networks in regions that do not currently have networks, such as Chad, Niger and Central Africa, especially information communications, and the profits generated from these networks will be invested in building other networks.
He pointed out that there are more than 850 million Africans who do not have any mobile connection to the world.
This represents more than half of the people of the continent, we want to enable them to communicate, offer their services, raise their productivity and enable them to access market opportunities, which will help raise the standard of living in these regions.
He explained that there are 6 factors that distinguish Votera currency from other digital currencies. First, it is not anonymous and its founder is a famous scientist and his reputation is known on the Internet.
Secondly, all the proceeds from currency sales will be used to build advanced communications networks in poor countries that do not have communications at present. Third: Futera does not use the competition system in mining, so electricity is not wasted without a return.
Fourth: All servers that agree to transactions are owned by Votera or the telecom company, so any of them can document any transaction.
Fifth: This network prevents the possibility of exchanging currency more than once, known as double exchange.
Where the server, upon entering the coin holder on the network, raises a banner prohibiting any other server from dealing with this user until a transaction with him is recorded on the system.
Sixth: The identity of the users of the currency is known, so it will not be used for money laundering or tax evasion.
He stressed that there are plans for the 6G technology that is being worked on, which is characterized by a very high speed, as it can transmit 1 terabyte per second.
Through his career, he affirmed that the West has more respect for scholars than our Arab world.
He pointed out that the United Arab Emirates has become very advanced through blockchain technology and artificial intelligence, as it has made an excellent stride.
There is a kind of embracing the pioneers in this field, and he confirmed that he plans to create a programming center so that it will have very good results.
It is reported that Dr. Hatem Zagloul has received many international awards and certificates for his achievements in the field of entrepreneurship.
He was also chosen as one of the 10 greatest personalities in Canada, and he is currently issuing a distinctive digital currency to support building communications networks in poor countries, according to Al Roya newspaper.
