Within the coordination meeting of the fifth round of the Kuwaiti -American strategic dialogue, under the supervision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Information Sciences Department participates in the views of building national cadres in cybersecurity and information security with a decent invitation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and in the presence of representatives of a number of authorities concerned with education in Kuwait, a delegation from the Information Science Department participated in the College Life Sciences at Kuwait University in a coordination meeting on the presentation of visuals related to educational and academic aspects in the field of building national cadres in cybersecurity and information security, as part of the relevant and existing preparations for the fifth round of the Kuwaiti -American strategic dialogue.The Acting Head of the Department of Information Sciences confirmed Dr..Fatima Boujara for the importance of such meetings and thanked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for this invitation and allowing the view to review the views and proposals of the department in this regard.She indicated that the division comes within the framework of strengthening and completing the efforts of the department and the college aimed at enhancing the concepts of cybersecurity and gaining the necessary experiences in this important field, noting that the Department of Information Sciences organized the first virtual conference for cybersecurity and information security in 2021 by more than 550 experts and in cooperation with the United States government The American and the General Authority for Communications and Information Technology, in addition to the section in hosting and organizing the third conference for cybersecurity and research research (CEC) in cooperation with the United Kingdom Government, the General Communications and Information Technology Authority and the Kuwait College of Science and Technology.D..Boujara on the importance of building national cadres in cybersecurity and information security in light of the increasing electronic attacks and high cases of violation of public and private institutions data, and the increase in security gaps and high -risk malignant software.She emphasized that the Department of Information Sciences is currently discussing with the university administration to launch academic programs that will prepare national cadres and that the department is fully prepared to meet the needs through a distinguished constellation of faculty members in which experienced experience in the field.It is worth noting that the Department of Information Sciences grants a Bachelor's degree in Information Sciences approved in the general computing of the Accreditation Council for Engineering and Technology (ABET), in which the graduate is required to take a specialized material in information security.The department also presents the two master's programs, the first in information technology and includes several decisions in cybersecurity, and the other in computer information systems in four different tracks, one of which is for the security of information systems.The department qualifies its students to work in multiple fields in the sections of information systems in the public and private sectors, in many fields such as designing and developing ways for network security and information, designing and managing databases, developing computer technologies and software, designing and developing information systems and information networks.
