Adolf Hitler said: “Progress and civilization are the result of the efforts of genius, not the gossip of the majority.”
One of the most important things that refine genius is science, and it usually hits a target that no one can see And it requires inspiration, effort and fatigue to impress others by discovering things of value that benefit humanity .
Tasneem Muhammad Yusuf is a genius girl who has proven that women are suitable for any profession, even those that remain The preserve of men for long periods, she has outdone herself, and the most famous and most famous world scientist, as she has set for herself A goal, and strived towards achieving it, and shone in the sky of women's achievement after creating the first project of its kind To detect toxic gases remotely using smart applications under the name "Robodem", which deserves to be obtained Many awards inside and outside Bahrain.
Passion for technology has been her ally since childhood, and she decided to direct this to the service of humans, and to put Bahrain on The map of innovation and global knowledge, which we will discuss in detail in the following dialogue:
*Tell us about your project?
- I chose to have my graduation project at the university bearing a new and innovative idea that serves society and humanity in a way year, to become a global Bahraini-Gulf invention, called "Robodem", which is a robot for gas exploration. remotely, through smart applications, and the idea stemmed from my intense passion for technology and robotics, So far, I have published four scientific papers in international journals and conferences related to this field, which I have loved since The softness of my nails.
How does your project serve humanity?
- The idea of this robot serves humans by reducing errors and dangers to human lives And then preserving it, as it prevents human exposure to toxic gases, which is the first project of its kind It took me about six months to prepare it, and it was under the supervision of Dr. Wael Al-Madani, and today I am working on its development, and I have participated in several competitions and achieved advanced positions in them The GITEX competition in Dubai won the second place, and I was the first Bahraini to get this achievement and participate In this important event.
*Hardest challenge you have faced?
- The most important challenge for me was to ensure complete accuracy in determining the proportion of gas, because the robot consists of sensors, and it is necessary to provide a large degree of skill in determining the type of gas, as well as its ratio, With the development, it reached the stage of identifying nine toxic gases, namely methane, propane, carbon monoxide, and carbon dioxide Carbon dioxide, natural, sulfide oxide, hydrogen sulfide, cooking gas, and disulfide fluoride gas.
* What are the most important developments in the project?
- I am convinced that any project should not stop working on its development at a certain stage, After putting in a lot of effort and hard work, I was able to introduce some important developments to the Roboderm project In the recent period, including moving it through the smart application, that is, its work with self-control, which is a feature Extremely important to ensure that it works efficiently in particularly rugged and narrow spaces, algorithms have also been developed To ensure its performance with high accuracy, and I would like to express here my heartfelt thanks to the many parties that have provided me All the support and encouragement, including the Tamkeen Foundation and the Ministry of Youth and Sports, for their great support for me, and for guiding and preparing me through Participation in several specialized courses on business administration, as well as qualifying me to travel to the State of Kuwait to participate in the exhibition The Ninth World Invention, in which she won a silver medal, was a great achievement for me to me, in addition to receiving the Scientific Invention Award from WIPO (the World Intellectual Property Organization), Besides achieving a number of other important achievements as well.
* What are the other important achievements?
- I was an official speaker at an international conference, during which I touched on the issue of developing youth capabilities and skills and how They become entrepreneurs, and then they are able to improve the conditions of the world, as I participated in the Mother's Competition IT, where the project was ranked among the top ten projects in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, thus being I have achieved a lot in my field of passion which I discovered since my childhood.
*Tell us about your childhood?
- I was a very enthusiastic child about technology in general, and the school fostered this voraciousness in the field of mathematics and sciences in particular, and after obtaining high school, I joined the University of Bahrain to study computer engineering, and I worked after Graduation is a computer engineer in the banking sector, and she broke the rule of limited specialization for girls in the field of space and communications to Significantly at that time, I faced this challenge, whether by society or my family, no doubt The outlook has changed a lot today and we see women occupying any profession, and the other challenge was financial.
How did you face the financial challenge?
- This type of important project is usually very expensive, which leads to the failure of institutions and companies about supporting it or adopting it, so I invite here business incubators to go into this field and invest in it, regardless of Regardless of the difficulties they may face, I personally resolved to achieve my goal, and to bring my project to light Despite facing financial pitfalls, I received support from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Tamkeen Foundation The Social Development Bank and the University of Bahrain. I was also very happy to receive a scholarship from the University of Nottingham in Britain To study a master's thesis in communications and electronics engineering, and I was the first girl from Bahrain to receive this honor.
What about after the master's degree?
- After receiving my master's thesis, I worked on another important and innovative project related to the field of satellites In order to reduce the interference elements it encounters and thus negatively affect its performance, which is an important area that can be Benefiting from it in many sectors such as oil, agriculture, navigation, transportation, and others, as it contributes to making signals The satellite works with high accuracy, and it is the first project of its kind, and I hope it will be applied in the Kingdom of Bahrain On the ground, it coincides with the government's trend towards developing space communications engineering, in addition to Focusing on my volunteer and charitable work in several fields.
What are your most important volunteer activities?
- I am a huge fan of charitable work, and I enjoy it a lot, and one of my most important activities in this The field is my work as a volunteer at the Salman Cultural Center, which nurtures and embraces young talents to the greatest degree, as a teacher for children I specialize in programming languages, and I also work as president of the Council of Electronics and Communications Engineers with the aim of helping and preparing recent graduates And preparing them to enter the labor market successfully, in terms of developing leadership and speaking skills, and others to enhance the practical aspect They have, with the aim of bridging the gap between the practical market and the scientific disciplines of the university, in addition to another field that I discovered My passion for it recently.
* What is that field?
- The passion of any human being does not stop, and it is always renewed, and I recently discovered my passion in the field of teaching and my enjoyment of skill In it, through my current part-time work at Bahrain University of Technology, which is also one of the fields Which I find great pleasure in working with, especially in terms of benefiting students with science and knowledge, and encouraging them to do so And always trying to assure them that knowledge comes first, then action, and I am very proud of being honored by His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of Education, which is another impetus for more work and achievement.
* What principle do you follow?
- I admit that I am a person who enjoys positive stubbornness. When I set a specific goal for myself, I do not give up on achieving it no matter what I encountered difficulties or setbacks, and I always believe in the principle that every diligent has a share, and I follow it through my journey, As for my current dream, which I hope will see the light of day, it is to obtain a PhD in the field of electronics engineering and communications, and to be able to develop the “Robodem” project and put it on the global market as a Bahraini product and benefit from it From him the whole world, and thus I have presented an honorable image of Bahrain in international forums, and I also hope that This project is being adopted by a company or organization in the near future.
