If you are adding a fixed drive to your computer, you may need to prepare it for the operating system before you can use it.
It is easy to do this using the auxiliary tools in the Windows and MAC computers, and the process is the same whether you are preparing an internal drive installed on the desktop computer or an external drive connected to the desktop or laptop computer.
Keep in mind that when preparing the hard drive, it erases all files and it may be difficult or impossible to restore them.Be careful with this matter and always make sure to choose the correct fixed drive in the auxiliary preparation tool.
1.In the search box on the start button, type "Disk Management" as shown in the following way.
a.In search results, specify "Create and Format hard Disk Partitions".
P.In the list of fixed drives, right -click the drive you want to prepare.In the popup menu, choose "Format".
4.In a re -preparation window, choose the file system you want to use.Usually, you will need "NTFS", which is the default setting of Windows operating system.Make sure to choose the "Perform A Quick Format" mark as you can see in the picture below.
Kh.When you are ready to prepare the drive, click "OK".

4.At the top of the window, click "Erase".
Kh.In the popup window, choose the file system you want to use.You will usually need "Exfaat", which is the default preparation for the MacOS operating system (MacOS).
I.When you are ready, click "Erase".
