Judge IV Gonzalez Rogers said that Apple must comply with an order that allows developers to add links and buttons to external payment options by December 9, which refuses the company's proposal to stop the implementation of the matter.
Its new matter stated: Apple is based on a selective reading of the results of this court and ignores all the results that supported the judicial order.
The judge issued her order after a hearing related to the anti -monopoly claim submitted by the developer Epic Games company in 2020.
During the hearing, Apple said it needs more time to rewrite its anti -guidance policies, which are the rules that prevent the applications of applications from being associated with payment methods alongside the iOS application store.
Apple's lawyer, Mark Perry, said: This is the first time that the company has allowed direct links to a digital content application. It takes months to know engineering, economic, commercial and other issues.
He added: It is very complicated. There should be protection barriers and guidelines to protect children, developers, consumers and the company. It must be written on guidelines that can be explained, implemented and applied.
The company praised the ruling on the case, as the judge concluded that the manufacturer of iPhone phones did not violate the anti -monopoly law by removing Fortnite from its store.
She said that the company had no reactivation of the developer account of EPIC Games. But she resumed, saying that the policies of the anti -orientation company had hidden relevant information about users and demanded to remove them.
Perry indicated that the company made one of the required changes. In August, as part of the settlement of a collective lawsuit, it removed a base that restricts how to communicate with users via email.
But the company depicted the links within the application as a unique threat to the user's confidence and safety, saying that it can allow developers to deceive users or send them to harmful sites.
Perry said: We believe that these changes, if the company is forced to implement them, may change the platform. It harms consumers and developers.
Epic Games formulated Apple's request as a delay without any real commitment to change."Apple does nothing unless you have to do it," said Gary Bournesttein, Epic Games, said: Apple does nothing unless you have to do it.
The judge was skeptical of the request because the company asked to suspend the warning order indefinitely, although it said that it wanted more time to assess the risks only.
The judge said: She did not ask for additional time.I have requested a judicial order that may take years.Perry replied that the company wanted to postpone the changes until the case would be resolved, saying he was confident of winning the appeal.
This did not affect the judge, and suggested that the company did not provide any reasonable reason for the court to believe that the judicial order would cause the announced destruction, regarding the company's pretext that it may be affected by adding external links to alternative payment systems within the applications.
Apple says it plans to resume. She believes that additional changes in businesses are not required in order for all appeals to be resolved in this case.
