Within the framework of the fruitful celebration of Al-Azhar Al-Sharif at the Cairo International Book Fair and its work on the great interest of people with special needs, the first trial version of the Noble Qur’an was presented in Braille to support the blind and visually impaired to facilitate their search for knowledge.
The program “Sabahak Masry” broadcast on MBC Egypt 2 TV presented a TV report entitled “Al-Azhar Al-Sharif Supports the Blind with a Braille Qur’an in its booth at the Book Fair.”
The report said that this version of the Noble Qur’an in Braille is characterized by a larger size and thicker paper of a special type so that its dots are clear and prominent so that it can be easily read with fingertips.
The report added that Al-Azhar Al-Sharif was keen to support the blind to rely on themselves in reading and teaching at any time they wanted, without relying on others, with the aim of achieving active families and equal opportunities for them in a society that guarantees a decent life and equality with others.
